I can melt chocolate, but this is what melts my heart.

First off I am making a New Years resolution. This is something I don't think I have ever done before. My resolution is, I am going to eat the same stuff I have been eating, but the clincher is. I am going to add so...

Such a easy recipe to make, it's like pancake batter with more sugar. But not to sweet at all. The sweetness comes from the powdered sugar. Add berries if you like. I like mine without. Just a sprinkle of powdered sugar over the hot funnel cakes. Perfect in there simpl...

For over 43 years with my husband, this has been a family favorite. When I first met the family at dinner parties this was always on the table. When asked by my mother in law if I wanted to try Mustard Greens I said yes. To the families disappointment, I loved them. Th...

I followed this recipe. And I believe it's the best.  But I have a million more to try.

 My Christmas baking continues

I had a ton of Lemons on our tree here in California, so I thought why not make Lemon Buttermilk pound cake. All...

Today was a rainy day, for good ol fashion Chocolate Chip Cookies and a cup of joe, made just a little fancy with the addition of some whip cream and cimmamon. You all know how to make Chocolate Chip cookies. You just follow the recipe on the back of any bag of chocola...

Really, these Brownies are easy to make. I didn't even have to take out the beaters. I mixed it all with a wisk and big spoon. I added the chcolate chips at the end just on top. That's the second chocolate I added. The Brownies are soft and chewy. Add Vanilla Ice Crea...

We love to go to Rosie's for breakfast, her gallo pinto is so good, she adds the right amount of spice and onion, bell pepper, cilantro it's got some heft to it. Add eggs and one of her fruit drinks, your full and satisfied. I love the watermelon drink the best, but h...

I'm jumping in. I'm not your mother's blogger, oh wait I am. So I thought at 67 I know a little about cooking and baking. I am ready to share my sweet life here in the jungle of Costa Rica. My home away from home. My outside cooking area, eating area, living area. The "rancho" as it's called here in Costa Rica. I live here with my surfer husband of 44 years. We are retired  from California, born and raised.  I cook quite often. If I get bored, I bake and then try to give my goods away. I also sell baked goods to some cafes and folks around here. We really don't need to eat all that sugar.

I learned to cook from my husband's Grandma, Marie, who was from Italy. So of course I love to make Italian food and we love Mexican food also. But I will try to cook anything.  Everything I make has a piece of Grandma Marie in it.  More about her later.
