I say almost because this cake does have 1 Tablespoon of flour in it, not sure why. I have to research that. It's good and fudgey like you would expect form a flourless cake. I think it needs ice-cream or whip cream. I used coconut ice-cream made by people in town here...

Here I go again trying new ways to use my Sourdough Starter and here it is. Quiche in a tart pan. It's cheesy and it has onions, mushrooms and thyme, parmesan is in the crust along with the sourdough. I added Arugula on the top and a few chili flakes for the win. So fa...

I guess because I have lots of Mac nuts in my freezer I am always thinking what I can do with them besides just eating them by the handful. I love them they are my favorite nut, so I need to make something with them. This time it's cookies with peanut butter and the ma...

I have put this on my blog for the last 2 years because it's so good. Really

After 44 years of marriage and making terrible pancakes every time I try a new recipe hoping this will be the one, I have found my favorite. And it's not like I can't cook or anything, it's just pancakes. I will look no more. One thing though you have to have sourdough...

I'm jumping in. I'm not your mother's blogger, oh wait I am. So I thought at 67 I know a little about cooking and baking. I am ready to share my sweet life here in the jungle of Costa Rica. My home away from home. My outside cooking area, eating area, living area. The "rancho" as it's called here in Costa Rica. I live here with my surfer husband of 44 years. We are retired  from California, born and raised.  I cook quite often. If I get bored, I bake and then try to give my goods away. I also sell baked goods to some cafes and folks around here. We really don't need to eat all that sugar.

I learned to cook from my husband's Grandma, Marie, who was from Italy. So of course I love to make Italian food and we love Mexican food also. But I will try to cook anything.  Everything I make has a piece of Grandma Marie in it.  More about her later.
