Sour Cherry Jam Tart
The Sour Cherry Jam goes so nice with the brown sugar short bread crust. I was making some Granola and kept out 1 Cupful of the yet to be cooked Granola, for this recipe. I just sprinkled it on top of the tart before baking. I really liked it. In this Granola I put cranberries and almonds. You can add anything you like. Or for that matter you can add any Jam you like. I have never used Sour Cherry Jam before, I believe it was made just for this tart. You will to. Sour and sweet. Just like me.




Preheat to 360 degrees
8 1/2 x 12 1/2 Tart Pan
One Jar or about 1 Cup of Sour Cherry Jam. Or Jam that you like.
3/4 Cup Butter
2 Cups Flour
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 Egg Yolks
1 Cup of Oats or some granola before it's baked.
You can add 1/4 cup of dried cranberries
1/4 Cup of sliced almonds
In food processor, add the flour, butter, pinch of salt, baking powder and brown sugar and turn on for about 1 minute. Add the egg yolks and pulse for a few times until it all comes together.
Spray cooking spray into tart pan. Press the mixture in pan in thin layer. Save about 1/2 cup to put on top.
Use a fork and poke holes all over crust
Spread the Jam in a thin layer over crust
Put pieces of the leftover crust all over Jam
Add the oats and cranberries and almonds, cook for 30 to 40 minutes. Enjoy your beautiful dessert you made.
