Chocolate Brownie Butter Cake



This is a simple and tasty little cake perfect with a cup of hot tea. I love the very different layers. I think a strawberry cake would be nice on top of the brownie also. Try it with different cakes. Enjoy
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Brownie Butter Cake
makes 1 loaf
For the Brownie layer, grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper sprayed with cooking spray
5oz. dark chocolate or chocolate chips
1/4 cup unsalted butter soft
14 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup flour all purpose
Melt the chocolate and butter in microwave for 15 second intervals and stir each time be careful not to bun the chocolate. Let cool slightly and then add the brown sugar and stir.
Add egg and mix well. Fold in flour and mix until well combined. Pour batter into a prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove.
Butter Cake
1/2 cup unsalted butter soft
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
5 1/2 Tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
For the Butter Cake
1/2 cup unsalted butter soft
1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 5 1/2 Tablespoons milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Grease and line a 4x8 in loaf pan with parchment paper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
To make the Brownie, melt chocolate and butter in microwave at 15 second intervals and stir each time be careful not to burn the chocolate. Let cool slightly and then add the brown sugar and stir.
Beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Fold in sifted flour and baking powder, alternately add the milk. mix to form batter
Spread the butter cake on to the brownie and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
