Great Pancakes with Sourdough
After 44 years of marriage and making terrible pancakes every time I try a new recipe hoping this will be the one, I have found my favorite. And it's not like I can't cook or anything, it's just pancakes. I will look no more. One thing though you have to have sourdough starter so now is the time to make some. I am always looking for some recipe to use my starter with, and someone (I already forgot who) mentioned sourdough Pancakes and so I thought I would try it out. I found this recipe from tasteoflizzyt.com and I am so happy with it and myself. I think the people around me think I am a little strange for getting so excited about pancakes but come on, a 44 year quest is a long time and can be sad at times. Does anyone understand the frustration?

2 cups of flour, all purpose
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 Tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sourdough starter, I fed mine yesterday and used it today. I don't think it matters.
1 1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, soda, sugar and salt
Add the sourdough starter and the milk, egg and oil. Mix just until it's all combined
Put a pat of butter on your pan and heat it up. My first Pancake is always not the best.
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter on hot pan and cook until you get bubbles on the top and then flip
Cook until golden and then, need I say more?
Butter and Syrup and it's a little bit of heaven.
