Jalapeño Jelly over Cream Cheese for your Valentine



I have put this on my blog for the last 2 years because it's so good. Really
Show some savory love to your Valentine with this Jalapeño Jelly, it's a little bit sweet and a little bit savory the perfect combination of flavors to put on top of a cracker or pita chip. Your love will love you for it. Make it now for a gift.
I put mine over a cream cheese heart.
I used a cookie cutter and filled it with the cream cheese and then quickly and gently pushed out the cream cheese onto the plate.
4 large jalapenos
1/2 green bell pepper
3 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups cider vinegar
1{85 ml} packet liquid pectin
coarsely chop jalapenos & bell pepper
place in blender and process to a fine mince
combine minced peppers, sugar & vinegar in a large stainless or enamel saucepan
bring to a full boil over high heat stirring constantly
stir in pectin all at once, return to a full boil and boil hard stirring for 1 minute exactly
remove from heat
stir for 5 minutes
pour into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2 inch head space
jelly will be VERY liquid at this stage
wipe and seal tightly
leave at room temp. overnight
refrigerate 1 month or freeze up to 1 year
