Brownies for Beginners

No need to get the mixer out for these delicious and easy Brownies. You can add things like espresso powder or nuts, whatever you like to make these Brownies your own.

My Great Niece is visiting us from CA here in Costa Rica and how could I possibly send her home without baking with her. Although we really haven't had much time for cooking because there are to many things to do and places to show her we have been eating out most of the time. Between her Zip lining and Surfing lessons and checking out the month of the river we have been on the go. And thats the fun of having visitors. But we need to get off this party train and get ready for a different adventure for Chuck and I. Next blog post is about what we will be doing next.

So much fun having this beauty here with us. Yes she is taking all the Brownies home with her on the plane.

Brownies

1 cup unsalted butter melted in microwave

2 cups sugar

1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

4 eggs

1 1/2 cups flour

1 cup sifted cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Chocolate chips to sprinkle on top

Maldon sea salt flakes or another flake salt

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

In a large bowl mix melted butter, sugar and vanilla together with a whisk until smooth

Whisk in eggs one at a time beating after each egg.

Stir in the flour, coco powder and salt until combined

Line a 9x13 in pan with parchment paper spray lightly with cooking spray.

Spread the batter in the pan sprinkle on a handful or so of chocolate chips and sprinkle on the flake salt to your liking.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
